  18. After installing SQL Server for Windows NT, additional object and
  19. counter choices are available in the Windows NT Performance Monitor.
  20. The additional items are:

  22.  - SQLServer
  23.  - SQLServer-Locks
  24.  - SQLServer-Log
  25.  - SQLServer-Users
  26.  
  27. Each of these four objects has multiple counters that can be selected
  28. for monitoring.

  33. The objects and counters for which Performance Monitor provides
  34. monitoring can be found in the Registry under the following subkey:
  35.  
  36.    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\
  37.    Perflib\009 under the counters string.
  38.  
  39. When SQL Server for Windows NT is installed, the counters string is
  40. appended to include the objects and counters associated with SQL
  41. Server for Windows NT. The last entry in the counters string before
  42. installing SQL Server for Windows NT is:

  45.    Pages Input/sec

  47. After installing SQL Server for Windows NT, the last entry in the
  48. counters string is:

  51.    Log Space Used(%)

  53. Also changed in the Perflib subkey are the values for "LastCounter"
  54. and "LastHelp," which are equal to the hexadecimal value of the last
  55. entry of the "Counters" and "Help" strings, respectively, under the
  56. 009 subkey.
